Peter Florio has a passion for helping people to protect their families, their wealth and their businesses from life’s unforeseen pitfalls.  As a financial educator, author, speaker and wealth planner for over 36 years, his advice is sought out to develop and implement comprehensive planning solutions for small business owners and high net worth individuals.  His latest book, Retire Abundantly, provides readers with the information they need to secure their financial freedom and live a life of abundance.  As a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Certified Exit Planner (CExP), Peter regularly shares his knowledge with CPA’s and attorneys by offering continuing education seminars, and with the public through Private Briefings.

Peter’s life experiences provided him with a unique skill set to help people plan for a secure future.  As a young teenager, he worked in his father’s business.  However, after a long illness, his father died prematurely.  With no contingency plan in place, the business was lost leaving the family nearly destitute.  After graduating from St. John’s University with a B.S. in Business Administration and from Hofstra University with an MBA, he worked as a Systems Analyst designing processes and systems for manufacturing and banking applications.

Peter eventually brought these experiences and skills to the world of financial services.  However, he quickly discovered that the industry was broken.  Time after time, he found that the planning centered around product sales instead of designing customized solutions for people based on their unique set of circumstances.  This led Peter to launch Florio Wealth Management Group and develop his Wealth With Peace™ process, emphasizing a holistic approach to wealth and life planning based on an individual’s personal vision and values.  Once defined, they serve as the foundation for utilizing a set of uncompromising planning principals that emphasizes not only setting goals, planning for them and implementing them, but also ensuring that his clients do not lack in the area of proper risk management.  To this day, he lives by the mantra that “Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans.”

Peter and his wife Jane of 43 years live in their hometown of Baldwin, NY.  They have two children, Beth and Steven.   Peter is a past member of the Rotary Club of Freeport, NY, having served as its Treasurer and President.  He is currently a member of the Baldwin Kiwanis club and is an active supporter of the Long Island Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  To this day, he remains passionate about sports – a trait he inherited from his Father.  Peter’s recreational pursuits include golf, reading, music, physical fitness and travel – and above all, quality time with family.
